Green Heart of Italy
Among the lavish olive tree groves, seating on the hills of Umbria, we found mark-worthy place. Elegantly restored old farm, started its life from the 17th century, now looks very stylish and called Borgo della Marmotta Farm Resort which is ultimately intimate! It’s a complex of compact stone houses with tiny and romantic narrow streets. You can find all of this beauty in the Poreta village which is near the ancient city Spoleto.
The hotel belongs to the family who owns all surrounding hills with olive tree groves on them. Moments away from the farm, up on the hill, you can see their family Villa della Genda. Very beautiful house that takes its history much earlier than the farm itself and in the past the cardinal Annibale della Genda, later Pope Leo XII, used it as a hunting house. Today, owners keep on growing olives and produce organic oil while also growing some beans which is an inseparable part of local agriculture.
Hotel consists of a restaurant with open terrace, cosy spa, an outdoor swimming pool and green surroundings. In every corner of the garden you can find comfortable seats of different shapes – exactly what you need after long day of exploring the Umbria. Near the lobby entrance there is beautiful forged furniture with clouds-like cushions. So it’s very easy to find the right place where you can have a refreshing glass of prosecco. There are 11 rooms at the hotel in two different types (Standard and Superior) and 7 apartments. All rooms are decorated in light colors with many elegant details which help relaxation and gratification of living outside the city.
Also there is wide range of entertainment such as horseback riding, culinary workshops, yoga classes, hiking, fishing and it’s important to mention that all ancient cities aren’t far away.
In addition to rooms at Farm Resort, there are also much more spacious apartments up on the hills near the owners Villa della Genda. «Country Houses» are the apartments that suit families and groups of friends best.
In the end all what we need to say is that the pictures totally reflect reality.
While we were staying at Umbria we enjoyed Italian cuisine, walkings around the cities and national parks, we met a lot of great locals and of course stayed at cool hotel so at the end we’ve created great and interesting tour «Truffle hunting, wine and yacht».
