La Perla, Italy

The Kingdom of the Alps

La Perla – the Costa Family hotel, located in the Val Badia valley surrounded by The Dolomites. Corvara ski resort, as well as other neighboring ones, clearly express remarkable hospitality of the Ladin culture.

In 1957 Ernesto Costa decided to get the license to open the hotel in the 6 bedroom house built by himself. In the past, Ernesto used to be a rock climber and ski instructor (the hotel is located 30 meters apart the very first ski slope Col Alto opened in 1938.) Thus the history of the hotel La Perla begun. The hotel which provides the complete variety of services for all tourists and not only in winter. The hotel matches to the landscape perfectly –  the Alpine mansion house includes 52 suites decorated in 3 different styles, 4 restaurants and one tavern, several lounge areas, “Eghes Sanes” spa, heated swimming pool, large terrace with panoramic views. Breathtaking mountain views are visible from all the hotel windows.

All necessary for winter holidays is included. Dolomiti Superski ski resort is the best-known resort in Italy and the largest ski resort in the world. It consists of 12 resorts. Pistes length of 1.200 km. are equipped with 450 mountain lifts. In Alta Badia, there are 132 kilometers of pistes suitable for skiing and snowboarding.

Summer holidays admirers will also find lots of entertainment: mountain hiking trails of varying difficulty, rock climbing courses, via ferrate, historic routes. A nine hole golf course, greens, driving range, and clubhouse are equipped for golfing.

But the most interesting is the fact of the partnership between Costa family and Pinarello which led to the opening of The Dogma Pinarello Lounge. The perfect place for meeting before or after cycling to share impressions, learn the history of the greatest bicycle racings, contemplate different bicycles, communicate with professional bicycle racers who are provided with all convenience for having proper rest and maintaining their bicycles in proper technical conditions.

Take into account that in 2009 the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A wide variety of good wine in the cellar called  Mahatma can be a delicious addition to the beauty of the region and the diversity of the entertainment. The wine cellar contains 30 000 bottles of wine from different regions of Italy, Switzerland, Austria and France. More than half of all wine is from South Tyrol.

All this expresses the Costa family culture and their relationship to their native region, their passion for high-quality products, superior hospitality which they express in all what they do.

The continuation we will find in 5 restaurants of the hotel, each one has its own highlight:  La Stua de Michil – the gourmet restaurant obtained Michelin star, Les Stues – the restaurant with innovative views on the vegetarian menu, La Perla quick service restaurant with Mediterranean and South Tyrolean cuisine, Ladinia restaurant full of alpine flavor dishes and  L’Murin tavern, the place of loud music at night.

The family’s philosophy spread around the whole La Perla Hotel

“Strawberries in winter are not for us. Nor do we serve goose liver or Californian wine. There will be no fruits of the forest on our winter menu, and apple strudel in summer out. Going organic is not a trend, it is a life choice, a philosophy. It is essential living in harmony with nature because we ourselves are nature”.
