It rises majestically above Lisbon. Palacio Belmonte located on one of the 7 hills of the city. After Frederic Coustols getting the building, it obtained its second or even third, fourth lease of life…and now it can become your home during visiting Portugal. The hotel is full of history, art and extremely kind hospitality. You won’t find large amount of guests there, it is quiet, fresh and lightful.
2000 year-old synthesis of the country’s history got a new look after 6 years reconstruction and 26 million euro investment. Stunning architecture, modern design with lots of details and antiques were united together. During the reconstruction the 15th and 17th centuries building methods and best materials were used, frescoes and original blue and white ceramic tiles with pictures on it (landmark artistic direction of the 18th century) and many others were preserved. The hotel fully meets the modern standards and supports sustainable development and environmental protection. For this purpose the leading ecologists were invited. Under their direction, modern heating, airing and lighting technologies were used.
3700 sq.m. of Palacio Belmonte includes 11 deluxe suites, each one is called in honour of the Portuguese writers, artists, philosophers, ecologists, inventors, explorers. In the possession of the visitors there are terraces, winter gardens, guestrooms with scenic views on the top of the towers as well as wonderful swimming pools, fireplaces, piano, lots of books and art objects.
The inseparable component of the hotel is its views from the windows and terraces: cobbled wind-streets of the old Alfama district, medieval churches, the Tagus River from one side and the valley of the red roofs and lush gardens on the other one.
